This is a project that is just getting underway and we know it’s gonna be BIG.
It is exclusively Singapore based at the moment but success could quickly see the idea winging it’s way back here to the UK.
The idea is called Social Rehab and it aims to explore how we can get people off of their smartphones and back to interacting with their friends. Today so many people go out with their friends but seem to spend a huge chunk of time literally attached to their smartphone. Our friend Scarlett and some of her colleagues are trying to tackle this trend head on.
By taking elements of the everyday digital world and bringing them back into real life, the Social Rehab tool kit will provide conversation starters and entertainment outside of the smartphone status quo. Think ‘Instaglasses’ as an alternative to Instagram, real life note cards instead of digital Tweets, ‘Like’ stickers rather than a ‘Like’ button and even real-life ‘Draw Something’ doodle pads. Our actions aim to promote social interactions in the real world. We think they’re right and it’s about time you joined the real-life revolution before it’s too late.
We’re hoping for Singapore success and more to follow back here in the UK. Watch this space…and check our their website in the meantime.
